Natural Place at Ek Phnum Temple

Natural Place at Ek Phnum Temple.

Ek Phnum Temple is a cultural and natural tourist destination featuring an ancient temple called Ek Phnum. It is located in Ta Kom Village, Peam Ek Commune, Ek Phnum District, Battambang Province, about 7 km off Provincial Road P156 at Thkov Village, Kdol Don Teav Commune, Ek Phnum District, Battambang Province, and 12.29 km from Battambang town.

Ek Phnum Temple was built in the 11th century, in the year 1027, during the reign of King Suryavarman I (1002–1050) in the Angkorian period, as a dedication to the deities of the Brahmanical faith. This ancient temple has a courtyard of approximately 30 meters and is surrounded by walls: 25 meters from east to west and 49 meters from south to north. The temple is quadrangular in shape, faces east, and was constructed of laterite stone.

It was built on a single mound with two levels, with walls encircling the main structure of the temple and towers made of sandstone, and it is surrounded by a water enclosure (moat). The temple grounds are planted with many Bodhi trees, creating a cool, shady canopy and a fresh breeze.

To the south of the temple there remains a water enclosure that has now become a pond used regularly by the resident monks. The site also offers a variety of tasty foods sold on the premises, making it a pleasant recreational spot for a peaceful day off.

Natural Place at Kompung Pluk

Natural  Place at Kompung Pluk .

Siem Reap: Kompong Phluk Natural Village is located on the Tonle Sap Lake, Kompong Phluk village is situated in a flooded area of Tonle Sap Lake in Siem Reap province. Kompong Phluk consists of three villages combined, located within the Tonle Sap Lake, approximately 30 km from Siem Reap province in Cambodia. It is surrounded by flooded mangrove forests, which serve as a habitat for many types of wildlife. The village showcases its beautiful scenery at the end of the rainy season. Floods from the Mekong River cause the water level of Tonle Sap Lake to rise, inundating the village and its forests.

During the rainy season, the tall stilt houses in the village appear to be floating on the water. The lush blue water and the flooded forest create an attractive and unique landscape. Traveling through the village relies on small boats to get from one house to another.

Most villagers here are engaged in fishing, while some residents participate in providing tourism services. National and international tourists are surprised and delighted by this beautiful scenery. They can take small boats to visit the flooded forests and capture memorable photos.

Kompong Phluk village during the rainy season not only displays magnificent natural beauty but also demonstrates the community's clever adaptation to natural changes.
